Helena Lopez

Clinical Specialist at ABLE Human Motion

Helena is a physiotherapist with more than 12 years of clinical experience working in neurorehabilitation. She previously worked at Fundación Step by Step (Spain) where she used exoskeletons as a treatment tool for people with SCI. Now, she applies this experience and expertise to development at ABLE Human Motion. She is also a lecturer at Escola Universitària de la Salut i l'Esport.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rüdiger Rupp

The head of the Experimental

Neurorehabilitation Section

at Heidelberg University Hospital

Rüdiger Rupp is the Head of Experimental Neurorehabilitation at Heidelberg University Hospital. Throughout his extensive career, he has authored over 130 publications, over 300 lectures and posters, and has almost 7000 citations on his articles. He is also on the Board of Directors for the German Spinal Cord Injury Foundation and is Chair of the International Standards Committee - American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA).


Mark Wright 

Physiotherapist at Institut Guttmann

Mark is a physiotherapist specialized in neurorehabilitation at Institut Guttmann (Spain). He has 10 years of experience working with complex neurological disabilities. Mark spent 10 years working within the NHS (England) before moving to Institut Guttmann, where he is now a specialist in exoskeleton technology for rehabilitation.

Franziska Herzog

Spinal Cord Injury Center of Heidelberg University Hospital.

Franziska works at the Spinal Cord Injury Center of Heidelberg University Hospital. After two years’ experience working in physiotherapy with patients with spinal cord injury, she studied health services research and implementation science and is now back in the field of neurorehabilitation as a researcher. She coordinates research activities with new medical devices like the ABLE Exoskeleton in clinical settings.


Alfons Carnicero

CEO and co-founder of ABLE Human Motion.

Alfons is a healthcare entrepreneur with Medtech industry experience who has participated in several acceleration programs and completed various business and management courses (Cambridge Judge Business School, EADA, ISDI). He holds a Master’s in Industrial and Biomedical Engineering from the UPC and has proven skills in fundraising, leadership and go-to-market.
